About Me

My passion is helping others and seeing them succeed. I love knowing that when I take bookkeeping off a business owner’s plate, they can spend more time doing the things they love—and less time entering bookkeeping transactions.

I also love efficiency. I’m always looking for ways to streamline bookkeeping processes so transactions are entered accurately and efficiently. The goal is to keep your books up to date so you have timely, reliable numbers to help you make informed business decisions.

I’m based in Shelbyville, Illinois, right in the heart of Illinois farming country, and I spend part of the winter in the Phoenix and Tucson areas of Arizona. Our children are now adults and live in Illinois and Utah. I love to travel, and because my business is built around cloud technology, I’m able to work remotely with clients anywhere in the U.S. You may not always know where I’ll be working from, but you can count on me to work hard for you regardless of my location!

A Little About How I Work

I’m a task-oriented person, and my favorite bookkeeping task is reconciling accounts—which probably isn’t something most people would say!

I’m also probably giving away my age when I tell you that my first accounting class had just one chapter on computerized accounting. The rest of the course was manual accounting using paper ledgers. As I moved into computerized accounting, I discovered that having that foundation in manual accounting was actually a tremendous benefit. I’m not simply entering numbers into a software program; I understand how transactions should post behind the scenes and why they matter.

I’m a Level 2 QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor and hold QuickBooks Payroll certification, now known as QuickBooks Workforce certification. I especially enjoy working with QuickBooks Online because of its functionality, security, and ability to integrate with other apps. If you use a different bookkeeping system, I’m open to learning it as well. I’m happy to evaluate whether it has the tools and functionality needed to support efficient remote bookkeeping.

I’ve worked with businesses in a variety of industries, including ag retail, service businesses, and construction. However, I don’t limit myself to those industries. I enjoy learning about new businesses and understanding what makes each one unique.

My goal is to develop bookkeeping systems and processes that save you time—and ultimately save you money. I think of my clients as trusted partners, and I want you to have confidence that your books are accurate, organized, and up to date.
